BIRMINGHAM As 66 – 106 LONDON UNITED-HAREFIELD ACADEMY (EBL DIV TWO)
LONDON UNITED-HAREFIELD ACADEMY 99 – 91 WESTMINSTER WARRIORS (EBL DIV TWO)
On Saturday in Birmingham, after a slightly shaky start which resulted in 18 – 18 at the end of the first quarter, London United went on to defeat the Midlands team by 40 points. Marius Poskus played one of his best games this season ending with 34 points, 12 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 blocks and 2 assists. He was assisted by Andy Harper on 26 points and 9 rebounds and Bode Adeluola on 17 points and 5 assists. Coach Jack Majewski played four of his U18 Harefield Academy players in the final quarter alongside Marius Poskus and all four of them acquitted themselves well.
On Sunday at home, with a somewhat depleted team, London United managed to defeat a strong Westminster team in what was a close match throughout. Leading at the end of the first and second quarters, tiredness played a part as the London United players allowed Westminster to draw level at the end of the third. However, a solid spell of shooting from Andy Harper at the start of the fourth quarter enabled London United to take a small lead which they managed to sustain to the end.
Top scorers were Marius Poskus on 33 points, Andy Harper on 26 points and Daniel Szatkowski on 20 points.
London United-Harefield Academy now go through to the Play Offs to meet Westminster Warriors again in the Play Off Quarter Final on Saturday 26th March.
