SHEFFIELD ARROWS 87 – 58 LONDON UNITED-HAREFIELD ACADEMY (EBL DIV TWO)
A very disappointing performance on the road by the London United Men’s team led to bottom of the table, Sheffield Arrows, recording their first win of the season by defeating London United in decisive fashion.
The London United Men’s team unfortunately reduced to only six players and missing regular players, Andy Harper and Daniel Szatkowski, began well enough with London United leading 27 – 16 at the end of the first quarter. However, in the following two quarters, London United could only manage to score 8 and 5 points respectively as their shooters were totally unable to bite the basket and the three point shooting percentage plummeted to 12%. The Sheffield team capitalised upon unforced errors, and turnovers increased as the London United defence began to fall apart. In the final quarter, London United managed to score 18, but by then the deficit was too great.
Top performer was Bode Adeluola with 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists with Marius Poskus adding 17 points and 10 rebounds.
